Travelling for a New Year's Eve in Morocco

Today, get lost under the skin of `the pearl of the south` Marrakech city with a tour. Check out the Koutoubia Mosque, the reflection of a long rich history with its glorious earth-coloured minaret towering over the place. Then visit the 19th century Bahia palace the home of the sultan Ba Hmad down to the 16th century Saadin tombs before ending in the spectacular famous Jamaa El Fna Square, the heart of the ochre city and its live daily life shows, an actual masterpiece of the oral heritage of humanity as selected by the Unesco. Have a break, then go mingle inside the old alleys of the medina, home to blacksmiths, dyers, leather workers, sellers of spices with exotic scents, cabinet makers, tailors, and much more to discover.

This morning hit the road through the highest mountain pass `Tizi n Tichka -2260 above sea level throughout colourful changing sceneries down to Ouarzazate. Before heading to the city centre, we make a left turn towards the village of Ait Benhaddou, where you will stroll in the alleys of this true striking Kasbah, in fact, this place was classified by the Unesco as a universal heritage site.

At 08:00 in the morning, leave Ouarzazate behind through Daraa alley to Zagora where you break the drive with a typical lunch. Carry on via Tamegroute where you will make an important stop to visit the Koranic library to M`hamid from which you will begin your camel trekking for 2 hours to land up in Erg Lihoudi desert camp. Have some time to walk in the desert and catch the brilliant sunset lying down behind the great dunes, why not try the sunbath experience. For the night, celebrate the new year with a Berber musical evening and have Mechoui for dinner.

Rise up for a nice breakfast in the heart of the desert, then go back to Ouarzazate throughout the palm groves of Tagounite and Daraa valley where you will have a break for lunch and Tamnougalte Kasbah. Then arrive in the later afternoon for free time, dinner and a relaxing night in your hotel

Once you have your breakfast in your hotel, you will pay a visit to Kasbah Taourirt, then have the journey back to Marrakech crossing the Atlas Mountain and the famous Tichka pass.
